Diabetes Education Program at Health Central

The Diabetes Education Program has been helping people with diabetes to improve their health and reduce risk of complications from diabetes for over 7 years.

A registered nurse and registered dietitian will assist each person to learn about diabetes.

Class Content:

  • Meal Planning and Carbohydrate Counting
  • Diabetes Disease Process
  • Blood Sugar Monitoring
  • Physical Activity
  • Medications
  • Coping with Diabetes
  • Preventing, Detecting, & Treating Complications
  • Goal Setting & Problem Solving
  • For Women:
    • Prepregnancy Planning
    • Management During Pregnancy
    • Gestational Diabetes Management

Physician referral is required to attend.

Cost is covered by most insurance plans.
Cost is covered by Medicare plus supplement to Medicare.

 Schedule of Classes 

You must speak with the scheduling person at Health Central before attending a class.

Group Classes for Type 2 Diabetes

 Monday 5:30pm to 9:00pm
 Tuesday 8:15am to 5:00pm
 Wednesday 5:30pm to 9:00pm
 Thursday 10:00am to 4:00pm

Group Classes for Gestational Diabetes

 Wednesday 9:00am to 12:30pm

 



 Schedule of Support Group Meetings 

Support Group meetings are discussion format. They are free and open to anyone with diabetes. You do not have to call ahead… just show up in the room listed below.
